Orphans

We often say: “Children are our future”, but millions of children all over the world are currently deprived of the most essential things. Solidarity Foundation launches a project “You are not an orphan!” in the framework of which you will be able to support a child who has lost his father or both parents for just 40 rubles ($1.3) per day. Remember: some trifles can play a big part in life of an orphan.
You are not an orphan
Have you ever happened to take interest in life of people whom you have never met? Would you like to get involved in the destiny of a child who lives far from you?
Your support will not substitute a child a happy family but your contribution would provide them with some necessary medicines, food, clothing and school education. Children – participants of the project “You are not an orphan!” are under care of their mothers or foster families who help them to fulfil their potential. But it is your relationship with an orphan that will give the child some extra confidence necessary to make their dream come true.
The Foundation staff will be visiting these families to make sure that your donations have good impact on children’s life, their development and education.
At present Solidarity provides charitable aid for 100 orphans of any creed, sex, age and abilities. We invite you to take part in our project. You can apply for the children’s profiles by e-mail: orphans @ solidarnost.su/ Upkeep of a child in Russia comes to 1200 rubles ($40) a month or 14 400 rubles ($460) per year.
Orphans of Palestine
Solidarity Foundation announces a new action – pecuniary aid to orphans in Palestine.
The conditions these children live in are appalling. They have no freedom and no bread. They grow without toys and without smiles. They hear gunshots but not their mothers’ lullabies. Their distress doesn’t leave room for kindness in their hearts. We can save them with bread and care, a smile and some compassion.
Volunteers of Solidarity Foundation who have undertaken financial support of 20 young children from Palestine, are absolutely sure that even a tiny bit of kindness can change the orphans’ fate:
“Palestine is our common distress, and we have no right to forget about it. I consider it my personal duty to provide at least some help to these children. The amount required for a child’s support is not very big for me. Listen, our “little bit” is everything for them. It is an opportunity to survive. And to live on. But the opportunity to do good on this earth, to spread and multiply it is the true meaning of our stay in this world” – says Alina, a manager of a large European company office in Moscow.
Each month Alina will transfer $ 45 for two-year-old Ahmad from Gaza, which will help to provide the child with medicines, food, clothing and schooling.
“The child needs support, and I can help him. It inspires me, it means a lot to me, because it adds a great meaning to my life” – thus explains Saada, a student at Russian State Humanitarian University, her decision to take charge of two-year-old Palestinian girl Nahla.
Do you know these terrifying figures?
60% of the population of Palestine live on less than $ 2 a day.
Over the past two years the number of the poor there has tripled, reaching an unfeasible record of 2 million.
50% of the population survive only because of humanitarian aid.
In recent years thousands of Palestinians have been killed and tens of thousands injured – including many children. Palestinian homes, farmlands and businesses have been destroyed with bulldozers and tanks. Imposition of curfew and restrictions on freedom of movement have led to the unemployment rate exceeding 60%.
This situation is leading to an increase in cases of chronic malnutrition and anemia. At present lives of hundreds of thousands of people are dependent on food aid.
Remember that even by giving these people a little bit you will do EVERYTHING for them. And maybe it will change your life, too.
